It’s Christmas time! In many towns in Umbria there are cosy Christmas markets to buy souvenirs, taste local products and drink a warm glass of “vin brulè” mulled wine. Also in Castiglione del Lago, the small village where I live, the shops in the main street are filled with Christmas lights. Locals and craftsmen showcase and sell their products and local cuisine.
This weekend I’ve been to the Christmas market in Castel Rigone. A small village close to Passignano sul Trasimeno from where you can admire an amazing view of the Trasimeno Lake.
The Christmas market in Castel Rigone is until December 20, 2015.
The atmosphere was cosy with Christmas music in the background, different kind of cribs for Christmas, souvenirs, Christmas lights and Santa Claus on every corner of the street.
The Christmas markets in Italy are to soak up the warm and cosy atmosphere of Christmas. I couldn’t resist a warm glass of mulled wine… cheers!
