Mushrooms but not Porcini.

Hunting season has begun and not only for wildboar (actually the wild boar hunting starts this Saturday).

Mushroom hunters can be seen all over the country site. Someone from a nearby village always parks his car near us so he can quickly reach his favourite mushroom hunting grounds. While walking in the garden I encountered him and we had a little chat.

No Porcini purtroppo but chanterelle mushrooms, Gallinacci or Galletti in Italian. There is a local name but I always forget it, sounds like pigione. Our hunter had been emptying his hunting bag several times which resulted in a nice pile in the boot of the car. The question how he is was going to prepare them was answered with a short, fa mia moglie. Poor woman as you can see it will need quite some water and time to clean this pile.
